Oak Flats High School

Your place to learn and grow

Draft school plan and wellbeing documents

Thank you for the consultation this year, we have surveyed students, parents and teachers, conducted focus groups, held community consultation meetings and gained feedback through the parents and citizens associations and individual conversations with parents.

As a result of the work that was started by Keiren Spillane and through the consultation conducted by Angela Byron with external analysts and consultants and the community,  I have been able to evaluate, develop and implement new procedures and develop a draft school plan.  As a school it is essential that we consult, learn and grow through consultation with the school community.

We have listened to you and as a result we have increased our avenues for communication, increased the use of the school website (although this is a work in progress), we have increased the number of newsletters being generated.  We are currently evaluating the school merit and rewards system in which student voice is having a big say in the establishment of a vivo electronic rewards system that will also focus on achieving positive rewards.  There has been some feedback from staff , students and the community meeting about the core values of the school.  In the next week I will seek feedback about a proposed change, where resilience may be added as a core value or trait (watch this space). The student wellbeing procedures (PDF 9677KB) have been re-written to reflect the NSW Department of education policies and the draft 2018-2020 school plan (PDF 311KB) is now being made available for further consultation and feedback.
