Our staff

Get to know our school staff. We're all here to help.

From the moment you contact Oak Flats High School and speak to our friendly administrative team, you’ll feel the welcoming and inclusive spirit that defines our school. Every member of our staff is dedicated to creating a supportive and positive environment for all. We are incredibly proud of the strong learning and workplace culture we have built—so much so that several former students choose to return as teachers, student learning and support officers, and administrative staff. Oak Flats High School holds a special place in our hearts, and we are committed to making it a wonderful place for students to learn & grow.

Our principal, Ms. Byron, provides strong leadership and guidance, ensuring a positive and enriching educational experience for all students. We are incredibly proud that she was honoured with the Secretary's Award for Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging at the 2024 Public Education Awards. Her unwavering commitment to fostering a school culture where every student feels valued and connected has made Oak Flats High School a place where everyone belongs. If you would like to meet with Ms. Byron, please contact our friendly front office staff to arrange an appointment.

At Oak Flats High School, our dedicated, professional, and university-educated teachers are passionate about teaching and inspiring every student to achieve their very best. They create engaging, supportive, and inclusive learning environments where all students feel valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Our teachers and student learning support officers lead by example, demonstrating what it means to be lifelong learners. They are committed to ongoing professional development, continually refining their skills and embracing the latest evidence-based teaching methods. This dedication ensures that our students benefit from the most effective and innovative approaches to learning, preparing them for success both in and beyond the classroom.
