School Expo

Date: Week 5/6 Term 1

Time: 5 - 7 pm

Curious about life at Oak Flats High? Our School Expo, usually held in early March, is a great time to explore everything our school has to offer—from inspiring learning programs to vibrant extracurricular activities. Meet our passionate teachers, tour our upgraded facilities, and see why Oak Flats High is a great local choice.

Cross Country Carnival

Date: Yearly in late Term 1 or early Term 2

Our Cross Country Carnival is a great chance for the whole school community to come together. Students can walk, jog, or run along the scenic Lake Illawarra course, enjoy games and sporting challenges, and cheer on their peers.

Harmony Week Assembly

Date: Yearly in March, Term 1

Time: 9:30 - 11 am

Harmony Day is a celebration of our school’s diversity and the things that make our community unique. Each year, students explore and celebrate different cultures, enjoy a free World Food Tour hosted by our faculties, and experience special cultural performances.

ANZAC Day Assembly

Date: Tuesday 28 April, Term 2

Our ANZAC Day Assembly is a whole-school commemoration where students and staff come together to reflect on the courage, service, and sacrifice of those who have served in times of conflict. Through respectful readings, music, and reflection, we honour the ANZAC legacy and its enduring significance in shaping our nation. It is a meaningful occasion that fosters gratitude, remembrance, and a shared sense of respect across our school community.

Athletics Carnival

Date: Thursday 30 April

Our annual Athletics Carnival brings the whole school together for a day of fun, competition, and connection. Students can participate in a range of track and field events, represent their house teams, and cheer each other on throughout the day. It’s a fantastic opportunity to build school spirit and a strong sense of belonging, finishing with the much-anticipated staff vs students relay.

P&C Get Together

Date: Week 4 of every Term - next meeting 13 May 2026

Time: 6 for a 6:30 start to 7:30

Being part of the P & C is a great way to connect with our school community, have your say, and support programs that benefit students—all while helping make Oak Flats High School a place where every student can thrive.

Reconciliation Assembly

Date: Tuesday 2 June - Term 2

Our Reconciliation Assembly is a significant school event where we come together to reflect, learn, and strengthen understanding of reconciliation. Students and staff will share performances, reflections, and stories that highlight the importance of respect, truth-telling, and connection. We warmly invite our community to join us as we acknowledge and celebrate the ongoing journey towards reconciliation together.

Year 12 Graduation

Date: Wednesday 11th November 2026

Time: 8:30 am - 11 am

Our Year 12 Graduation is a special celebration where students are recognised for their hard work, achievements, and growth throughout their time at Oak Flats High School. Families and friends are warmly invited to join us as we honour this important milestone and look forward to the next chapter in our graduates’ journeys.
