Wellbeing
At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
- help for students who are new or changing year levels
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students
- open communication about wellbeing and support.

Reset Room
We are pleased to let our students and families know that in 2026 we've implemented the Reset Room in D Block. This calm, purpose-built space supports students to pause, reset and return to learning feeling more settled and ready to engage.
The Reset Room is staffed by our dedicated Student Support Officers, Dr Kath Hamilton and Ms Emma Davidson, who bring experience, care and practical support to every student interaction. They work closely with students to provide guidance, calming strategies and short check-ins, and can connect students with additional wellbeing or learning support when needed.
During break times, the Reset Room is available as a quiet space where students can practise grounding strategies, use mindfulness tools and take time to self-regulate before returning to class.
The Reset Room is one of the ways Oak Flats High School continues to prioritise student wellbeing. By providing a supportive space and dedicated staff, we aim to help students feel settled, safe and ready to learn, so they can fully engage in their learning throughout the school day.
Breakfast Club
The Reset Room also hosts Breakfast Club, available every morning from 8:00–8:30am, Monday to Friday. Breakfast Club provides students with a welcoming start to the day and an opportunity to connect with staff in a calm and supportive environment.
